The NATO Land Tactical Planning Course will teach planning based on APP-28 in a corps warfighting scenario. Headquarters Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (HQ ARRC) has been using APP-28 in planning since 2019 and will provide the instructors for the course. In the course they will also share their experiences from training to become end of 2020 certified as NATO warfighting corps in readiness.

METHOD AND OBJECTIVES

Under the guidance of a lead instructor and supported by selected instructors and subject matter experts, this demanding and dynamic ten-day course simulates a tactical-level planning group moving through the NATO Tactical Planning Process for Land Forces. The curriculum is comprised of multiple short lectures, followed by practical exercises and back-briefs in syndicates (40% - 60%). The course includes formal briefs to a senior mentor who performs the role of a tactical commander.

The primary target audience consists of military staff officers (OF 2-5) or civilian equivalents who have been/will be appointed to positions where they will be involved in planning in tactical level HQs.

The course will be conducted in English; a language proficiency of 3333 is required. The maximum number of participants for this iteration is 24. To apply, participants must complete and submit the SWEDINT CV and Application form; an early application is highly recommended.

COVID-19

SWEDINT intention is to execute the Pilot NLTP course, if the situation allows. This includes the COVID-19 itself but also National regulations and change of priorities within SWEDINT / HQ ARRC. We will continue to update (potential) students, based on the dynamic situation.
