NATO/PfP SOC - Course opening at SWEDINT

PfP SOC 1/2009 started Monday 2 February. The course will end 20 February . There are 35 participants from 10 countries.

The purpose of the course is to prepare nationally trained Staff Officers from NATO and PfP countries for assignments in Peace Support Operations (PSO), by giving them a working knowledge of NATO/PfP staff procedures, in order to function at multinational division/brigade HQ level.

The course is conducted by a mixture of lectures, case studies, syndicate work, map exercises (MAPEX) and a final Command Post Exercise (CPX) where the students man the different branches in a Brigade headquarters.

The students will experience some Swedish hospitality during the welfare weekends in Stockholm.
