”Today, on 24 April, defence exercise Aurora 23 is launched. If you have been summoned to a warfighting exercise, you should report to the address indicated in the draft…”. This was the mobilisation message broadcast nationwide on Swedish Radio P4 yesterday.

In the exercise scenario for Aurora 23, Sweden is exposed to an armed attack. The situation escalates with influence operations and sabotage, in which the electricity and telecommunications networks are disabled. On these grounds, the government has decided that the Swedish Armed Forces is to draft war assigned personnel. Mobilisation means summoning personnel and gathering equipment in preparation for a war situation.

The idea is that this exercise feature will be repeated on Thursday 27 April, with an additional mobilisation message being broadcast on the radio.
