The 55th World Military Skiing Championship 2023 is under way

The championship started with a team sprint. The women’s sprint was won by Germany’s first team Catherina Hennig and Victoria Carl. The second team of France ended up on second place with skiers Flora Dolci and Lena Quintin. Bronze medals went to Nadja Kaelin and Anja Weber, Switzerland’s first team.

The men’s sprint was won by Jules Chappaz and Richard Jouve from France’s first team. The silver went to Avelino Naepflinand Beda Klee from Switzerland’s first team. The bronze was awarded to Finnish skiers Remi Lindholm and Ristomatti Hakola.

On Tuesday evening, an official opening ceremony was carried out in the Boden Arena, in which the championship’s first medals were handed out.

During the ceremony colonel Carlos Verdugo, the highest-ranking representative for CISM, declared the Championship open to military music performed by the Royal Swedish Navy Band.

The championship continues until Friday with Ski Mountaineering, Biathlon and Ski Orienteering. A final award ceremony will be held on Friday evening for all participants.
