“It is about defending Sweden, our way of life and our freedom.

With a stronger defence we can maintain our security.

Kristinehamn is significant for the east-west connection in Sweden”, Defence Minister Pål Jonsson said.

“A historical day for Kristinehamn, the Swedish Armed Forces and for Sweden.

Now that the Bergslagen Artillery Regiment is re-established, there is capability to train artillery in the south of Sweden. This is an important capability to the Swedish Armed Forces.

You should all feel that you are important to the current expansion of our defence.

We shall aim fast, aim far and aim high.

That is where we are heading”, said Supreme Commander Micael Bydén.
