Yesterday NATO Secretary General Mr Jens Stoltenberg visited NCGM and SWEDINT in Kungsängen.

Mr Stoltenberg emphasised both his personal and his organisation’s commitment to the international agenda for Women, Peace and Security (see UNSC resolution 1325). He also stressed the importance of political leadership for the implementation of a gender perspective in national military structures and in NATO operations.

NCGM presented its activities with particular focus on partner organisations like NATO, UN and EU, where the centre’s competences and education programmes are tools within the portfolio of international security policy.

 “NATO is world-leading when it comes to gender integration in military operations, and in our role as a NATO centre of excellence it is a privilege to be able to discuss the development of the discipline with NATO’s Supreme Chief”, says NCGM Commanding Officer Lars Berglund.
