Norwegian Flag Officers visits SWEDINT.

This Monday Lieutenant General Robert Mood and Major General Kristin Lund visited SWEDINT to meet with the Commandant SWEDINT, Colonel Lena Person Herlitz.

The purpose of the visit was Lieutenant General Robert Mood invitation as guest speaker on the NATO/Partnership Multinational Tactical Planning Course (MTPC) to talk about "Characteristics of modern Conflicts". The aim of the lecture was to enhance the understanding of how conflicts arise and how they attempted to be resolved.
LTG Mood has a unique expertise in this field, having served as Head of Mission of the United Nations Truce Supervision Organisation (UNTSO) as well as Head of Mission of the United Nations Supervision Mission in Syria (UNSMIS).

The aim of the MTPC is to prepare Staff Officers from NATO and partner countries to serve as planners within a tactical level headquarter in a NATO-led Peace Support Operation (PSO). This by applying the Operations Planning Process based on the Comprehensive Operations Planning Directive (COPD) and the principles of a Comprehensive Approach.

The Course is being conducted at SWEDINT between the 27th of January and 14th of February, hosting 27 students from 7 different Nations are attending the course.
The MTPC course is conducted twice a year and next occasion is scheduled for the 25th August to 12th September 2014.
