The Swedish Armed Forces supports the evacuation in Sudan

A few days ago, the Swedish Armed Forces (SwAF) reached forward deployment near Khartoum in order to support the evacuation of Swedish citizens. The SwAF is cooperating with partners in order to create the best possible conditions for solving the task.

The situation in the area remains tense and is changing by the hour. The SwAF has unique capabilities to handle this sort of complex missions, however. The soldiers are experienced, trained and equipped to operate in dangerous situations and under pressure.

There are no current indications that the situation will improve. The SwAF monitors the developments closely and given the uncertain situation, the SwAF will refrain from communicating further details regarding current plans, in order to ensure the safety of SwAF personnel and other individuals on location in Sudan.
