US naval visit in Stockholm

USS Arleigh Burke (DDG-51) visits Stockholm 16 – 19 February. The last time a ship of the Arleigh Burke-class made a naval visit here was in March 2022.

“This is a routine visit. The ship goes to port to let the crew recover after a long time at sea, as well as to stock up on fuel, food and other necessities,” says Stefan Norlin at the Naval Base and responsible for planning the naval visit.

The ship will be moored in the Stockholm Frihamnen port for four days.

This ship class operates on long distances and is equipped with the adequate sensors and weapon systems. The ships have advanced capability to detect and strike hostile targets on and below the surface, as well as in the air and on the ground.
