Women of SHAPE briefed by NCGM on gender in conflict

On Thursday, 7 March, SHAPE hosted the first Women’s Seminar on gender issues in conflict. This initiative was launched by a group of spouses of SHAPE-NATO personnel and was open to all interested people within the NATO community.

The core of the seminar were the accounts of two experienced Swedish gender field advisors, Cdr Urban Rådestad and Maj Linda Johansson (who represented the Nordic Centre for Gender in Military Operations). They both served in Northern Afghanistan and gave a fantastic feedback of their experiences about what can be achieved.
