EU BG Nordic Battlegroup (NBG) Key Leader Seminar

At the beginning of October, EU BG Nordic Battlegroup countries Sweden, Finland, Ireland and Norway conducted a Key Leader Seminar for its designated OHQ augmentee personnel. The general purpose of the four-day seminar was to get a deeper understanding of EU crisis management procedures in practice, but also to give additional information on the Nordic Battlegroup itself.

Thereby making certain that all NBG OHQ augmentees can prepare themselves, both individually and as a group, for the stand-by period for NBG starting January the 1st  2011.

The NBG multinational delegation consisted of 24 officers and was led by Swedish generals Stefan Andersson, NBG Force Commander, and Anders Brännström, NBG Designated Operations Commander. The seminar started in Brussels with visits made to the EU Military Staff and CMPD. Thereafter the delegation went by Eurostar to the UK, continuing with visits to the UK Permanent Joint Headquarters as well as the EU OHQ NAVFOR, both in Northwood in northern London.
