A busy programme was put together for His Majesty. The visit was opened with an information briefing about Norrbotten Wing by the base commander Colonel Per Nilsson. The Exercise Co-Director, Brigadier General Johan Svensson and Colonel Chris Weggeman, the NATO Air Component Command Director then briefed the monarch about the exercise. The colonel then took the Swedish King on a tour of the exercise facilities of the Kallax Air Base.

After that His Majesty then went on board the HMS Illustrious, the British Royal Navy aircraft carrier based in the Gulf of Bothnia participating in Loyal Arrow, and later visited the German Deployable Control and Reporting Centre (DCRC), which trains in the exercise for their upcoming assignment to the NATO Response Force. The monarch completed the visit to Loyal Arrow by watching the second wave of aircraft take off in the afternoon.
