The participants have landed

Marksman and -women from all over the world flew in to Kallax Airport outside Luleå on Sunday. Never before have so many nations passed through the terminal in one day. Over 500 participants from 45 nations were cleared at Kallax on this Sunday. When we looked in, things were running smoothly and all the baggage had reached its final destination and its recipients.

At the transit airport Arlanda-Stockholm International, the participants had already seen a well-signposted reception stand where they were given information about further transport up to Boden. Most of them could check their baggage straight through to Luleå, thanks to good cooperation with SAS, the customs and the police.

This facilitated handling of weapons and ammunition. The participants waited at the baggage conveyor, happily conversing in best “Friendship through Sport” spirit and were soon ready for transfer by bus to the barracks area at Boden Garrison.
After billeting, it was time for a thorough check of weapons and ammunition as stipulated by the championship regulations. The check was efficiently organised and everything proceeded quickly and smoothly.
“Our journey has gone very well,” said Mohd Salman, Team Captain of Bahrain, after the 18-hour flight. His first impression of the competition arrangements was good.
“The reception area was clearly laid out and we received answers to all our questions,” Mohd Salman concluded.
