Europride 2018
We stand up for the values we are tasked with defending. The Swedish Armed Forces is an inclusive workplace where we view people’s diversity as a strength. We have been proud Pride participants since the turn of the millennium because it is important that we take a stand and show that we will stand up for the equal worth of all people – whatever their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.

TUESDAY 31 julY

Run for Pride – There will be a Swedish Armed Forces tent and personnel.
WEDNESDAY 1 august – sUNDAY 5 august
Two photo exhibitions at the Swedish Army Museum, illustrating Swedish Armed Forces norms, past and present. Open during the Museum’s opening hours. Free admission.
THURSDAY 2 august
15:00 Swedish Army Museum
“True Colours” seminar. Caroline Paige shares her experiences as a transgender officer in the UK Armed Forces and during international operations. Caroline, who is the first openly trans member of the UK Armed Forces, has played a big part in making the UK Armed Forces more inclusive for LGBTQ people and has also been actively involved in LGBTQ issues at NATO level. The seminar will be held in English. Free admission.
FrIdaY 3 august
10:00 – 17:00 The Courtyard, Swedish Army Museum
Information tent with representatives of the Swedish Armed Forces, the Swedish Defence University, the Swedish Defence Recruitment Agency, the Defence Materiel Administration, and the Swedish Defence University student union. The focus here is on one-on-one discussions and fundamental value issues, and on our stance on human rights and everyone’s right to live as they choose.
17:00 – 19:00 The Courtyard, Swedish Army Museum
Swedish military musicians (“Fältartisterna”) perform. Free admission.
SATURDAY 4 august
12:00 Rålambshov Park

The Swedish Armed Forces, the Swedish Defence University, the Swedish Defence Recruitment Agency, the Defence Materiel Administration, and the Swedish Defence University student union and Swedish military musicians (“Fältartisterna”) take part in the Pride Parade, which starts on Norr Mälarstrand. Those wishing to participate in the Swedish Armed Forces’ section of the Parade should gather at the Swedish Armed Forces truck on Norr Mälarstrand at 12.30 p.m.
TUESDAY 14 august – SUNDAY 19 august
The Swedish Armed Forces take part in Pride Park on Kungstorget during EuroPride in Gothenburg.

ALL DAY, EVERYDAY, EVERYWHERE
We practice for what we know is necessary today, plan for what we know will be required tomorrow, and adapt to the developments we cannot predict. We defend Sweden, the country’s interests, our freedoms, and the right to live as we choose. Here and now, we are identifying and stopping infringements of these rights on land, in the air, at sea, and online. Because our job is to defend all of the freedoms and rights we enjoy – in the open Sweden we have come to expect.
