Svenskt incidentflyg övervakade flygning

I dag den 24 mars har en svensk incidentrote identifierat och följt en rysk flygning över östra Östersjön bestående av två ryska bombplan av typen TU-22M ”Backfire”, med jakteskort bestående av två Su-27 ”Flanker”. De ryska planen flög utan påslagen transponder.

Andra nationers flygvapen följde också de fyra ryska flygplanen som flög i internationellt luftrum.

− Hotbilden mot Sverige har inte ökat men Försvarsmakten följer som alltid, på olika sätt, den ökade verksamheten i närområdet. I dag gjorde vi det på plats, säger insatschefen Göran Mårtensson.

Försvarsmakten anpassar ständigt sin verksamhet till vad som händer i omvärlden för att upprätthålla Sveriges territoriella integritet och visa närvaro.
