At the pontoon a young man from Ecuador who celebrated his 27th birthday today, Jose Pazmiño Yepez, is ready to practice on the Seamanship course.

- This is a dream for me to come here. It is an honour to represent Ecuador and the Navy. It is the first time Ecuador participates outside South America, Jose says.

Many of the athletes of Naval Pentathlon have been doing the sport for years but to Jose the sport is new.

- I started two months ago, I was a swimmer before. But I really love the sport. It is so many different things you have to manage. And the Base is beautiful, the food is good and it is very well organized, Jose ends.

And Jose, from all of us on Berga Naval Base: Happy Birthday or feliz cumpleaños!
