FAQ – The Swedish Air Force 100 Years Jubilee Air Show

• General information

  When and where is the Jubilee Air Show taking place?

  The Jubilee Air Show will be held on 22–23 August at Malmen Air Base in Linköping.

  Opening hours

  Gates: 06:30–18:00

  Flying Display: 09:15–12:55 and 14:00–17:15

  Exhibitions: 08:00–17:30

  Parking Areas: 06:30–20:00 (including bicycle parking)

  Are tickets required even though admission is free?

  No. Admission is free and no ticket is required to enter the event area.

• How do I get to the Jubilee Air Show?

  Free shuttle buses

  Free shuttle buses will operate regularly between Järnvägsavenyn, next to Linköping Central Station, and the event site on both days from 07:00 to 19:00. The buses will be clearly marked “Flygdagarna”.

  The shuttle bus stop is located approximately 100 metres from the entrance.

  Please note that queues may occur during peak travel times when many visitors arrive or depart simultaneously.

  Public transport

  If you are travelling from outside Linköping, we recommend taking public transport to Linköping Central Station and then using our free shuttle buses.

  Walking or cycling

  If you live in or near Linköping, cycling or walking is the quickest way to reach the event.

  Dedicated cycle paths lead all the way to the event, allowing you to avoid both traffic and parking issues. Bicycle parking will be available near the Swedish Air Force Museum. Please remember to bring your own lock.

  Bicycles parked outside designated areas, or left after bicycle parking closes at 20:00, will be removed and transported to the recycling centre in Malmslätt.

  Please note that rental e-scooters have limited operating areas in Malmslätt and cannot be used to travel all the way to the event site.

  Avoid driving if possible

  Please do not drive unless absolutely necessary. Roads around Malmen Air Base are expected to be heavily congested throughout the event, and significant traffic delays are anticipated. Public transport, cycling or walking is strongly recommended.

  If you must travel by car, make sure you bring sufficient food and water in case of extended delays.

  Parking

  Malmen Air Base is located in Malmslätt, within the municipality of Linköping.

  All visitors arriving by car should follow signs for “Flygdag 2026” (Air Show 2026). Parking areas will be allocated based on your direction of arrival, and it will not be possible to choose a specific parking location.

  Each parking area has its own name (colour), which is shown on signs throughout the parking area. Please note the colour of the parking area when you arrive and remember it before leaving your vehicle. This will make it easier to find your way back after your visit.

  Please note: You may need to walk up to 3 kilometres from your parking area to the event site. Some parking areas are located farther away, in which case free shuttle buses will be available between the parking area and the event site.

  Parking areas are open from 06:30 to 20:00. Vehicles remaining after closing time will be towed.

  Campervans, caravans and trailers

  Caravans and trailers are not permitted in event parking areas.
  Campervans may use the parking facilities during opening hours but may not remain overnight. For information about campervan parking and campsites in Linköping, please see visitlinkoping.se

  Electric vehicle charging

  There are no charging stations for electric cars at the Air Show parking area. 

  Taxi or app-based ride services

  Taxis and app-based ride services will not be permitted to pass the road closures to access the drop-off area. Instead, they will be directed to one of our parking areas. We therefore recommend using our free shuttle buses from Linköping Central Station instead.

  Accessible parking

  Visitors holding a disabled parking permit will be directed to spaces located closest to the exits within their assigned parking area. As parking areas are assigned based on direction of arrival and traffic flow, we cannot direct individual vehicles to the parking areas closest to the Air show or guarantee parking in a specific location. Please note that some parking areas are located up to 3 km from the airshow entrance.

  For the most convenient access to the event, we recommend parking in Linköping city and using our free shuttle buses from Linköping Central Station, which stop approximately 100 metres from the entrance.

  Visitors arriving via accessible transport services will be dropped off
  approximately 100 metres from the entrance.

  Coaches

  Long-distance coaches will be directed to Södra Oskarsgatan in Linköping. From there, it is approximately a 100-metre walk to our free shuttle buses, which operate between Linköping Travel Centre and the Flygdagen event site.

• What should I know while attending the event?

  Entry and bags

  There are two public entrances to the event site. At present, no bag restrictions are in place. However, security screening and bag inspections may be carried out at the entrances.

  Please note that no secure storage facilities for valuables will be available.

  No smoking

  Smoking is prohibited throughout the entire area and near all entrances. This also applies to e-cigarettes.

  Prohibited items

  The following items are not permitted on the event site:

  • Knives and sharp objects
  • Firearms and weapons
  • Alcohol and illegal drugs
  • Drones
  • Pyrotechnics
  • Animals (with the exception of guide / service dogs. Please note that noise levels and crowd sizes may make attendance unsuitable)
  • Explosive materials
  • Replica or imitation versions of any prohibited items, including toy
    weapons

  General safety rules

  The use or operation of drones is strictly prohibited throughout the event.
  Balloons or any other objects that could pose a risk to air operations are not permitted.

  Some areas will be restricted and closed to the public. Please pay attention to and comply with all instructions and signage.

  Photography and filming

  Photography and filming are permitted from public viewing areas.
  The use of drones for photography or filming is not allowed.

  Mobile network coverage

  Due to the large number of visitors, mobile networks may become
  congested. This may affect your ability to make calls, send messages or access mobile data services.

  We recommend arranging meeting points with family members and friends in advance, particularly if attending with children.

  Lost children

  Identification wristbands will be available for children. You can write a phone number on the wristband, but please note that mobile network coverage at the venue may be limited, which means phone calls may not always go through. We therefore recommend talking to your child in advance about what to do if you become separated.

  If your child goes missing, please contact a member of staff wearing a military uniform and a yellow high-visibility vest. Any lost children will be escorted to the Kids' Air Venture, which serves as the designated reunion point.

  Parking symbols indicate the direction to the parking area only and do not represent its actual location.

  Food and refreshments

  Food, beverages and snacks will be available for purchase throughout the event area. To help reduce waiting times, visitors will have the option to pre-order meals. Further details will be announced closer to the event.

  Due to limited mobile network coverage, payments can only be made using a physical payment card. Mobile wallet payments, such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, may not work.

  You are also welcome to bring your own food and refreshments. As seating is limited, bringing a picnic blanket is recommended.

  Medical services

  Qualified medical personnel from the Swedish Armed Forces and Region Östergötland will be available throughout the event to respond to illness and injury.

  In an emergency, call 112 or contact a member of Swedish Armed Forces staff on site.

  Visitors are encouraged to bring sufficient drinking water and any medication required for chronic medical conditions.

  Accommodation

  The Swedish Armed Forces does not provide accommodation for visitors.

  Other useful information for visitors

  Hearing protection

  Aircraft operations can generate extremely high noise levels. Visitors are strongly encouraged to bring earplugs or hearing protection. Children should ideally use both earplugs and ear defenders for maximum protection.

  Air show and pregnancy

  Flying displays involve periods of very high noise levels, low-frequency sound and vibration, particularly during jet aircraft operations, helicopter displays, take-offs, landings and certain display sequences close to spectator areas.

  As hearing protection cannot protect an unborn child, and occupational health guidance generally advises pregnant individuals to avoid exposure to high noise levels, we recommend that pregnant visitors do not attend the event.

  Anyone who chooses to attend should remain well away from flight operations, speakers and engine activity, use hearing protection for their own comfort, take regular breaks in quieter areas and leave the site if they experience discomfort.

  Charging devices

  Electrical outlets will not be available on site. Visitors are advised to bring a power bank if they need to charge mobile devices.

  Seating

  No seating will be provided in public viewing areas. Visitors are
  encouraged to bring a folding chair, blanket or other suitable seating.

  Hand sanitizer stations

  Hand sanitizer is available throughout the event venue, and we encourage all attendees to use it.

  In case of sunny weather

  Bring sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses.

  Drinking water

  Visitors are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle.

  Water refill stations will be available throughout the event site.

  Photography and personal data

  During the event, personnel from the Swedish Armed Forces may photograph or film visitors.

  Images and recordings may be used in various communication channels to inform the public about the organisation and its activities.
