Gotland Military Region

The Gotland Regiment and its wartime unit, Battle Group Gotland, are tasked with defending Gotland against all forms of armed attack. The regiment was re-established on January 1, 2018, to strengthen the Swedish Armed Forces’ presence on the strategically important island.
