Exercises
A significant part of the Armed Forces' activities concerns preparations for various types of situations that may arise. Large and small-scale exercises are needed to prepare our units for red alert.

The Swedish Armed Forces’ exercises are often based on simulations of events, in order to prepare our units for situations they may face. This could involve an attack on Sweden or participation in an international conflict zone.
To achieve maximum effect from the exercises, scenarios are included that represent all types of situations that may arise during a military operation. These may involve everything from armed combat, cooperation with the armed forces of other nations, to interactions with the civilian population.
Some of our exercises are small, involving only a handful of participants. Others can include many different countries. The international exercises are essential for developing our ability to cooperate with the armed forces of other nations and for ensuring that the Swedish Armed Forces’ various units within the Army, Air Force, and Navy become increasingly interoperable.
