Military rank insignia
All military personnel in the Swedish Armed Forces have rank insignia. The ranks indicate a person’s position within the military hierarchy.

The Swedish Armed Forces’ military ranks establish a hierarchical system for the organization’s military branch, organizing personnel by rank. On 1 October 2019, a new rank system was introduced in the Armed Forces, including a few new rank insignia.
Different scales apply to the various personnel categories within the Armed Forces. Since 2009, Sweden has had a multi-command system, with officers and specialist officers.
The names and designations of ranks vary between the Army, Navy, Amphibious Corps, and Air Force. Rank insignia are displayed on personnel uniforms, for example on collars and shoulder boards.
