By implementing a gender perspective in peace support operations we will have an improved chance to succeed and help set favourable conditions for the development in conflict areas.A Nordic Centre for Gender in Military Operations has been established at the Life Guards regiment in Kungsängen. The centre is one small, but important step towards making sure that we integrate a gender perspective into the planning, execution and evaluation of military operations. The centre was inaugurated by the Swedish Armed Forces Supreme Commander, General Sverker Göranson. The opening speech was held by the Swedish Minister for Defence, Mr Sten Tolgfors.
