2000 flight hours in Gripen

In December, Stefan Kaarle, fighter pilot and one of the Swedish Air Force’s demonstration pilots, beat the record by becoming the first pilot in the world to pass 2000 flight hours in the Jas 39 Gripen.

Stefan Kaarle has managed to achieve a great deal since he began his career in 1993.

"It feels fantastic to have reached 2000 flight hours. The number of flight hours gives vast experience and security. The work has allowed me to do many enjoyable things around the world."

During his time as a fighter pilot in the Swedish Air Force, he has been a part of the development of JAS 39 Gripen. From the first version, JAS 39 A to today's Jas 39 Gripen C/D.

"Great steps have been made in the development of the flight system over the last ten years, something I'm extremely proud to have been a part of."
