China wins team pistol events

True to form, China won both the men's and women's team pistol events on Wednesday 17 September. The men's team scored an excellent 1,747 points, with Ukraine in second place followed by India. In the women's competition, China finished ahead of two other favourites. Germany and Belarus finished second and third respectively.

Ukraine has a men’s team that often does well, while the team from India is new and has advanced significantly in recent competitions. The winning men's team from China comprised Zheng Gao, Yadong Liu, Yongde Jin and Chao Liu.

The Swedish men's team finished 11th of 29 starters with 1,722 points. The Swedish chain consisted of Håkan Sjöberg, Åke Stenlund, Joakim Olsson and Jonas Fyrpihl.

The women's gold medallists from China were Ying Cao, Yan Shu, and Xiaoxu Ding. Sweden was not represented in the women's team event.
