The Armed Forces Sports Centre

The Armed Forces Sports Centre is the Swedish Armed Forces body for sports and keep fit at central level. Activities are divided into three legs: physical performance capability, keep fit and sports.

FMIF works for a good physical performance capability in the Swedish Armed Forces, in which every individual can perform to the best of their ability and targets, in coping with the physical side of tasks, feel good, exercise regularly, train, compete and represent our country and be a role model for the rest of society.

FMIF has had many predecessors, including the Army Gymnastics School - GIS, Armed Forces Survival Centre - FM LIC and Armed Forces Sports Centre, FMI. The majority of activities have been education-oriented with specific expertise within sports and keep fit for the Armed Forces via various types of course.
