Armed Forces Music Centre

The Armed Forces Music Centre is the music unit of the Armed Forces. The centre is responsible for meeting the music requirements of the Armed Forces and national purposes for e.g. state and parliament ceremonies. The centre also gives concerts and performances for the general public.

The Armed Forces Music Centre has four music corps: the Army Music Corps, the Army Drum Corps, Life Guards Dragoon Trumpet Corps and the Marine Music Corps. Göteborg Music also doubles as the Air Force Music Corps for a third of the time. 

The Armed Forces Music Centre also has quality assurance responsibility for around 30 music corps within the Civil Defence and voluntary movements. Civil Defence and voluntary movement music corps also perform in various contexts.

The Armed Forces Music Centre also provides training to national service personnel. This training covers basic military training, music lessons and performances.

The Armed Forces Music Centre is responsible for maintaining and further developing military music traditions in Sweden.
