Education in explosive ordnance clearance

Swedish EOD and Demining Centre

SWEDEC, Swedish EOD and Demining Centre, was established in Eksjö after the 1996 Defence Resolution and is Sweden’s Centre of Excellence in the field of Explosive Ordnance Clearance, EOC. Our personnel, both military and civilian, include experienced researchers, ordnance engineers, officers and personnel with extensive knowledge and experience of EOD and demining operations.

Our expertise is available to the Swedish Armed Forces and also to organizations active in this area, such as the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency and National Board of Police. We also cooperate with SIDA in Sweden and with international organizations such as the United Nations, UN, and the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining, GICHD.

In order to meet its national and international undertakings, SWEDEC operations are mainly focused around training, development and operational support. For the present, our focus is on education in explosive ordnance clerance.
